Syndromic Retinal Disorders
Syndromic Retinal Disorders are a group of inherited conditions where retinal problems are part of a larger syndrome affecting multiple parts of the body, such as the eyes, skin, ears, or bones. These disorders can cause vision loss alongside other health issues, and their severity varies. Examples include Usher syndrome, which affects hearing and vision, and Stargardt disease, linked to visual decline with other systemic features. These disorders are generally caused by genetic mutations and require specialized diagnosis and management to address both eye and overall health concerns.
