Syncopy
Syncope is a medical term for a temporary loss of consciousness, commonly called fainting. It occurs when there is a sudden drop in blood flow to the brain, causing a brief loss of consciousness and muscle control. This can result from various causes, such as dehydration, standing up too quickly, heart problems, or nervous system issues. Usually, the episode is brief, and the person recovers quickly, but it’s important to identify the underlying cause to prevent future occurrences and ensure safety. If syncope happens repeatedly, a medical evaluation is recommended.
