Symmetry Concepts
Symmetry refers to a balanced and proportionate arrangement of parts within a whole, such that one side mirrors the other. It can be visual, like a butterfly's wings, or structural, like a crystal. Symmetry is often associated with beauty and harmony, but it also has practical roles in nature and design by enhancing stability and function. There are different types of symmetry, including bilateral (mirror image), radial (around a center point), and rotational (rotating around a center). Recognizing symmetry helps us understand patterns, structures, and the underlying order in the world.
