Syilx

The Syilx are an Indigenous people whose traditional territory is located in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada, and parts of Washington State, USA. They have a rich cultural heritage, including unique languages, customs, and spiritual beliefs centered around the land and its resources. The Syilx people have historically been engaged in activities such as fishing, hunting, and farming, which sustain their community. Today, they actively work to preserve their culture, negotiate rights and land claims, and promote the well-being of their community within regional and national contexts.
