Swiss National Language Institute

The Swiss National Language Institute (SNL) is a specialized organization dedicated to the study, promotion, and preservation of Switzerland’s linguistic diversity. Switzerland officially recognizes four national languages: German, French, Italian, and Romansh. The SNL conducts research on language use, develops language policies, and supports linguistic education and cultural initiatives to ensure all linguistic communities are represented and maintained.
