SWF
SWF, or Shockwave Flash, is a file format used for multimedia, vector graphics, and interactive content on the web. Developed by Adobe, SWF files can contain animations, video, audio, and interactive elements, making them popular for online games and presentations. However, due to security concerns and the rise of HTML5, which offers similar capabilities without requiring plugins, the use of SWF files has declined significantly. As of December 2020, Adobe officially discontinued support for Flash Player, leading many websites to phase out its use in favor of more secure and versatile technologies.
