Swedish Warship Vasa

The Swedish warship Vasa was a grand vessel built in the early 17th century, intended to showcase Sweden's naval power. It was richly decorated and heavily armed, but on its maiden voyage in 1628, it sank just minutes after leaving port due to design flaws and insufficient stability. The ship lay underwater for over 300 years before being salvaged in the 1960s. Today, the Vasa is displayed at the Vasa Museum in Stockholm, where it is celebrated for its historical significance and extraordinary preservation, offering insight into 17th-century shipbuilding and naval warfare.
