Swedenborgian theology
Swedenborgian theology, based on Emanuel Swedenborg’s teachings, views the spiritual world as intimately connected with the physical; after death, individuals continue to evolve spiritually and are assigned to heavenly or hellish states based on their inner character. It emphasizes direct personal experience of the divine through prayer and inner reflection, asserting that Jesus Christ is the central divine figure. Swedenborgianism also believes in ongoing spiritual development and that scripture contains deeper, symbolic meanings. Ultimately, it promotes a universal love, understanding, and the idea that the divine is accessible here and now through genuine inner transformation.
