Sviatopolk I of Kiev

Sviatopolk I of Kiev was a medieval ruler of Kievan Rus’, a federation of East Slavic tribes, during the late 10th and early 11th centuries. He was the son of Grand Prince Vladimir the Great and known for consolidating power amid family rivalries. His reign was marked by internal conflicts, including the violent succession disputes following his father's death. Sviatopolk is often remembered as a complex figure, sometimes called "Sviatopolk the Accursed," due to his involvement in these disputes. His leadership helped shape the early history of Eastern Europe, laying groundwork for future Kievan rulers.
