Svetambaras
Svetambaras are a major branch of Jainism, a religion originating in India focused on non-violence and spiritual purity. Their name means "white-clad," referring to their practice of wearing white clothing as a symbol of simplicity and non-attachment. Unlike another branch called Digambaras, Svetambaras allow women to attain spiritual liberation and wear clothes during rituals. They follow strict ethical principles, emphasize the teachings of Jain Tirthankaras (spiritual teachers), and promote non-violence, truth, and asceticism. Their religious practices include meditation, prayer, and adherence to a vegetarian diet, all aimed at achieving liberation of the soul.
