Suturing Techniques

Suturing techniques are methods used to close wounds or surgical incisions using thread-like materials called sutures. Depending on the type of wound and its location, different techniques are employed. Common methods include the simple stitch, where stitches are placed in a straight line, and the mattress stitch, which provides more tension across the wound. Continuous suturing allows a series of stitches to be done in a single length of thread. Each technique aims to promote healing, minimize scarring, and reduce the risk of infection, all while ensuring the edges of the skin are brought together effectively.
