Sutro Forest
Sutro Forest is a small, historic stand of giant redwood trees located in San Francisco near Land’s End. Originally planted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as an ornamental grove, the forest features some of the tallest and oldest redwoods outside of their native habitat. Over time, it became a popular spot for recreation, hiking, and picnicking. The forest is managed by the National Park Service and local groups, with ongoing efforts to preserve its unique ecosystem and natural beauty amidst urban surroundings.
