Suspensions

A suspension is a mixture where tiny solid particles are evenly distributed throughout a liquid or gas, but not dissolved. These particles are large enough to eventually settle out over time if left undisturbed. Think of it like muddy water: the dirt particles are suspended but will settle at the bottom if the water sits still. Suspensions are common in nature and industry, used in products like paint, blood, and certain medicines, where the solid parts need to be evenly spread during use but can separate over time.
