Surrogacy arrangements
Surrogacy arrangements involve a woman, called a surrogate, agreeing to carry a pregnancy for intended parents who wish to have a child. There are two main types: traditional surrogacy, where the surrogate's own egg is used, making her biologically related to the child; and gestational surrogacy, where an embryo created through IVF using the intended parents' or donors' eggs and sperm is implanted in the surrogate. These agreements typically include legal, medical, and emotional considerations, and aim to ensure all parties understand their rights and responsibilities throughout the process.
