Surgical Sperm Retrieval
Surgical sperm retrieval (SSR) is a medical procedure used to collect sperm from men who may have difficulties producing sperm naturally, often due to blockages or other issues. During the procedure, a doctor uses a tiny needle or makes a small incision to access the testicles or the epididymis (where sperm is stored). This collected sperm can then be used for assisted reproductive techniques, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). SSR provides an option for men facing infertility, helping couples achieve their goal of conception when traditional methods are not viable.
