surgical repair (Bankart repair)
A Bankart repair is a surgical procedure to fix a torn ligament in the shoulder called the labrum, which helps keep the shoulder joint stable. When the labrum is torn, the shoulder can become prone to slipping or dislocating. During the procedure, the surgeon reattaches the torn labrum to the socket (glenoid) using tiny stitches or anchors. This restores stability to the shoulder, reducing the risk of future dislocations. The surgery is usually done arthroscopically with small incisions, allowing for a quicker recovery and less discomfort.
