supersonic combustion ramjet

A supersonic combustion ramjet, or SABRE engine, is a high-speed jet engine designed for spacecraft and future planes. It operates efficiently at extremely high speeds by compressing incoming air using its forward speed, then mixing it with fuel to ignite and produce powerful thrust. Unlike traditional engines, SABRE maintains supersonic airflow throughout, enabling rapid travel in the atmosphere and space. It combines traits of jet engines and rocket engines, allowing it to take off from the ground, reach high speeds in the atmosphere, and transition smoothly into space travel, all with minimized onboard oxidizer storage.
