Supersolid

A supersolid is a rare state of matter that combines properties of solids and superfluids. Like a solid, it has a structured, rigid arrangement of particles, but it can also flow without viscosity, similar to a superfluid. Imagine a solid that, under specific conditions at extremely low temperatures, allows part of its atoms to move freely within its fixed lattice, creating a phase where it maintains its shape but also exhibits frictionless flow. This unusual behavior challenges traditional distinctions between solids and liquids and provides insights into quantum phenomena at macroscopic scales.
