Suomi Synod
The Suomi Synod, formally known as the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, was a Protestant church in Finland from 1897 to 1963. It was a conservative Lutheran denomination that separated from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland mainly over issues like church governance and theology. In 1963, it merged back into the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, contributing to the country's main Lutheran church body. The Suomi Synod played a significant role in promoting traditional Lutheran beliefs and practices during its existence.
