Sun Temple of Cusco
The Sun Temple of Cusco, also known as Coricancha, was a significant Inca temple dedicated to Inti, the Sun God. Located in what is now Peru, it served as the most important religious site for the Incas, symbolizing their deep connection to the sun and agriculture. The temple featured impressive stonework, with walls originally covered in gold sheets, reflecting the Inca’s wealth and reverence for the sun. After the Spanish conquest, the temple was partially destroyed, and a church was built on its ruins. Today, it remains a symbol of Inca culture and history, attracting many visitors.
