Summary statistics

Summary statistics are tools used to describe and understand data sets by highlighting their main features. They include measures like the average (mean), which sums all values and divides by the number of data points; the middle value (median), which divides the data into two equal halves; and the spread or variability (range, variance, standard deviation), indicating how much the data points differ from each other. These statistics help to quickly grasp the overall pattern, central tendency, and consistency within the data, making complex information easier to interpret and compare.
