Summary judgment motions
A summary judgment motion is a legal request made by one party in a lawsuit, asking the court to decide the case—or part of it—without a full trial. The moving party argues that there are no genuine disputes about the key facts and that they are entitled to judgment based on the law. If the court agrees, it can resolve the case early, saving time and resources. This motion is typically filed after evidence has been gathered, but before a trial begins. It helps ensure cases are decided fairly and efficiently when the facts are clear-cut.
