Sumerian Texts

Sumerian texts are ancient writings from the Sumer civilization in Mesopotamia, dating back around 4,000 to 2,000 BCE. They include cuneiform inscriptions on clay tablets, covering various topics such as laws, religious hymns, administrative records, literature, and even early stories. These texts provide valuable insights into Sumerian society, beliefs, economy, and governance. Written in a script carved into clay, they are some of the earliest examples of written language, helping us understand how early civilizations documented their world and laid foundations for subsequent cultures.
