
Sultan Alp Arslan
Sultan Alp Arslan was a 11th-century Seljuk Turk leader who became the Sultan of Persia and parts of the Middle East. Known for his military skill and leadership, he expanded his empire through successful campaigns, including against the Byzantine Empire. His most famous moment was in 1071 when he defeated the Byzantines at the Battle of Manzikert, which significantly weakened Byzantine control in Anatolia and helped forge the foundation for Turkish influence in the region. Alp Arslan is remembered as a capable ruler who played a key role in shaping medieval Middle Eastern history.
