Sukhavati (Western Paradise)
Sukhavati, or the Western Paradise, is a Pure Land in Mahayana Buddhism, believed to be a blissful, ideal realm created by Amitabha Buddha. Practitioners aspire to be reborn there to attain enlightenment more easily, as it offers perfect conditions for spiritual practice—free from suffering, distractions, and obstacles found in the earthly world. The idea encourages faith, devotion, and meditation on Amitabha, with the goal of eventually achieving Nirvana. Sukhavati symbolizes a transcendent refuge where beings can progress toward enlightenment in a conducive, divine environment.
