sugar production process
Sugar production starts with harvesting sugarcane or sugar beets, which contain high amounts of sugar. The raw material is cleaned, crushed, or shredded to extract the juice. The juice is then clarified by removing impurities through heating and filtration. It is concentrated by boiling to remove excess water, forming a thick syrup. This syrup is further crystallized by cooling, allowing sugar crystals to form. The crystals are separated from the liquid (molasses) through centrifugation. Finally, the sugar is dried, refined if needed, and packaged for sale. This process transforms raw plant material into the granulated sugar used in everyday cooking.
