Sudan conflict

The conflict in Sudan primarily involves longstanding tensions between the Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group, over power and control of the country’s government. These groups have deep-rooted differences rooted in historical, political, and economic issues, often fueled by ethnic and regional divisions. Since April 2023, fighting has intensified, causing widespread insecurity, displacement, and humanitarian crises. The conflict hampers efforts to establish stable governance and peace, with civilians bearing the brunt of violence and instability. Efforts for ceasefires and negotiations continue, but a lasting resolution remains elusive.
