Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (SCM)
Subsidies are financial benefits provided by governments to domestically produced goods or companies, often to support or promote certain industries. Countervailing measures (CVM) are actions taken by importing countries, such as tariffs or duties, to counteract or offset the unfair advantages gained from these subsidies. The goal of SCM (Subsidies and Countervailing Measures) is to ensure fair international trade by preventing governments from distorting markets through unfair financial support, thereby maintaining a level playing field for all competitors.
