Subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIG)
Subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIG) is a treatment that provides patients with healthy antibodies, or proteins, to help their immune system fight infections. It is administered through small injections just under the skin, usually weekly or monthly. Unlike intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), which is given through veins in a clinic, SCIG can be self-administered at home, offering greater convenience and flexibility. SCIG is often used for people with immune deficiencies or certain autoimmune conditions, helping improve their ability to defend against illnesses safely and effectively.
