Subawards

A subaward is a formal agreement where a primary organization receiving a grant (the recipient) passes part of that funding to another organization (the subrecipient) to carry out specific project activities. The subrecipient is responsible for managing their portion of the work and adhering to the same standards as the main recipient. Subawards enable collaborations, allowing specialized organizations to contribute their expertise, resources, and efforts to achieve the overall goal of the funded project efficiently and effectively.
