Subalternity

Subalternity refers to the condition of individuals or groups who are socially, economically, or politically marginalized and have limited power or voice within a dominant societal structure. Originating from postcolonial theory, it highlights how these groups are often oppressed or silenced, unable to influence decisions affecting their lives. Subaltern groups can include the poor, ethnic minorities, or historically oppressed communities.
