Styrene-butadiene rubber
Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) is a synthetic rubber made by combining styrene (a type of plastic) and butadiene (an oily liquid) through a chemical process. It mimics natural rubber’s flexibility, durability, and resilience, making it ideal for tires, footwear, and industrial products. SBR offers good abrasion resistance and aging properties, although it doesn't perform as well as natural rubber in extreme temperatures. Its manufacture allows for consistent quality and supply, making it a widely used, cost-effective material in various rubber applications where elasticity and durability are important.
