Studio Ethnography

Studio ethnography is a research method where designers or researchers observe and analyze how people interact with products, spaces, or environments within a controlled studio setting. Instead of studying people in their everyday context, they create a simulated or isolated environment that mimics real-life settings. This approach allows for detailed observation of behaviors, decision-making processes, and interactions. By doing so, it helps in understanding users' needs and experiences more deeply, guiding the development of more user-centered designs or solutions. It combines ethnographic insight with creative experimentation in a specialized space.
