structures of the earth

Earth’s structure consists of three main layers: the crust, mantle, and core. The crust is the outer solid shell where we live, varying in thickness from oceans to continents. Beneath it lies the mantle, a semi-solid, slow-flowing layer of hot rocks that extends deep below the surface. At Earth's center is the core, composed mainly of iron and nickel, divided into a liquid outer core and a solid inner core. These layers create Earth's geological activity, including earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and influence its magnetic field.
