Structural Barriers to Employment
Structural barriers to employment are systemic obstacles within society or the economy that make it difficult for certain individuals or groups to find and maintain jobs. These barriers include factors such as limited access to quality education and training, discrimination based on race, gender, or background, inadequate transportation, lack of affordable childcare, and policies that favor certain groups over others. They are built into social and economic systems and can create unequal opportunities, preventing capable individuals from participating fully in the workforce despite their skills or desire to work.
