Stromal cells
Stromal cells are specialized cells that form the supportive tissue surrounding organs and tissues in the body. They provide structural support, help maintain the environment, and assist in the healing process. Found in various organs like the bone marrow, fat tissue, and the tumor microenvironment, stromal cells interact with other cells, such as immune and nerve cells, to regulate growth, repair, and development. Unlike the cells that perform primary functions (like blood or nerve cells), stromal cells act as a framework and support system crucial for tissue health and regeneration.
