Stripers
Stripers, also known as striped bass, are a popular saltwater fish valued by anglers for their strong fighting ability and delicious meat. They have a sleek, elongated body with horizontal black stripes running from head to tail. Found along the Atlantic coast of North America and in some inland waters, they inhabit a range of environments from estuaries to open ocean. Striped bass are predatory, feeding on smaller fish and invertebrates. They are important both ecologically and commercially, and are often targeted in sport fishing due to their size and fighting spirit.
