Stress adaptation
Stress adaptation refers to the body's ability to adjust and respond effectively to stressors, whether physical, mental, or emotional. When faced with a challenge, the body activates mechanisms—like releasing hormones and changing energy levels—to cope and maintain balance. Over time, with manageable stress, these responses strengthen, leading to resilience. However, prolonged or excessive stress can overwhelm these systems, impairing health. Adaptation involves balancing stress levels to promote recovery and growth, enabling individuals to function well despite difficulties and ultimately become more resilient to future stress.
