Stratus clouds
Stratus clouds are low-altitude clouds that form in uniform, horizontal layers across the sky. They often appear as a gray or white blanket, covering large areas and creating overcast conditions. These clouds develop when moist air cools and condenses near the Earth's surface, frequently resulting in light drizzle or mist. Unlike cumulus clouds, which are puffy and distinct, stratus clouds are flat and spread out, making the sky appear overcast. They typically occur in stable weather conditions and signal steady, gray weather, often lingering for extended periods.
