Stratocracy

A stratocracy is a form of government where military leaders or the armed forces hold power and govern directly. Unlike democratic countries that elect officials through voting, or monarchies ruled by a royal family, a stratocracy is characterized by military control and authority. In such regimes, military leaders are often in charge of making decisions, enforcing laws, and maintaining order, usually after a coup or a period of military dominance. The structure emphasizes discipline, order, and centralized control, with civilian institutions either limited or integrated into the military hierarchy.
