Stjepan Radić

Stjepan Radić was a prominent Croatian politician and founder of the Croatian Peasant Party, active in the early 20th century. He dedicated his efforts to advocating for Croatian farmers, national rights, and greater autonomy within the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (later Yugoslavia). Known for his passionate speeches and leadership, Radić sought to improve rural lives and promote Croatian national identity. His activism faced opposition from central authorities, and he became a symbol of Croatian resistance. Tragically, he was assassinated in 1928, a pivotal event that impacted Yugoslav politics and fostered Croatian national movements.
