Stirling Head
A Stirling head is a part of a Stirling engine, which is a type of heat engine that converts heat energy into mechanical work. The head is the component at the top or bottom of the engine where heat exchange occurs, typically containing the cylinder and piston assembly. It helps in maintaining the temperature difference needed for the engine to operate efficiently, by transferring heat from an external source to the working gas inside the engine. This design allows Stirling engines to run quietly, efficiently, and use various heat sources, such as solar, geothermal, or waste heat.
