Stewardship Theory
Stewardship Theory suggests that managers and leaders are motivated to act in the best interest of their organization and its stakeholders, viewing their role as a responsibility rather than solely seeking personal gain. Unlike theories that assume individuals are mainly self-interested, stewardship assumes leaders are trustworthy, committed, and driven by a sense of duty to ensure the organization’s success. This approach promotes empowerment, collaboration, and long-term thinking, with leaders acting as stewards or caretakers invested in the organization's well-being beyond just personal rewards.
