Sternberg's theory of love
Sternberg's theory of love, known as the Triangular Theory, suggests that love comprises three key components: intimacy, passion, and commitment. Intimacy involves feelings of closeness and emotional connection; passion refers to physical attraction and desire; commitment is the decision to maintain the relationship over time. Different combinations of these elements create various types of loveāsuch as romantic love (intimacy + passion), companionate love (intimacy + commitment), or fatuous love (passion + commitment). The balance among these components influences the nature and strength of a relationship.
