Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy
Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR), also known as stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), is a precise form of radiation treatment used to target and destroy cancerous tumors. Using advanced imaging and computer technology, small amounts of high-dose radiation are directed accurately at the tumor from multiple angles. This precision minimizes damage to surrounding healthy tissue and allows effective cancer control in fewer sessions—often just one or a few treatments. SABR is especially beneficial for localized tumors in organs like the lungs, liver, or prostate and offers a non-invasive alternative to surgery.
