STEREO (Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory)
STEREO (Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory) consists of two spacecraft launched by NASA that orbit the Sun ahead of and behind Earth. This positioning provides a stereoscopic view of the Sun and its activity, such as solar flares and coronal mass ejections, from multiple angles. By observing the Sun from different perspectives, STEREO helps scientists better understand how solar phenomena impact space weather and Earth's magnetosphere. This improved knowledge can enhance space weather forecasting, protecting satellites, astronauts, and power systems on Earth from potential solar-related disruptions.
