Stephen Báthory

Stephen Báthory (1533–1586) was a nobleman and ruler of Poland and Lithuania, known for strengthening their union and military power. As King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, he led successful campaigns against Russia and the Ottomans, expanding Polish territory. He was also a skilled military leader, reformer, and patron of education and culture. His reign is remembered for restoring stability and boosting the country's influence during a challenging period in Eastern Europe. Báthory's leadership helped shape Poland-Lithuania into a significant regional power in the late 16th century.
