Stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes

Stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes are heart muscle cells generated in the laboratory from stem cells, which are versatile cells capable of developing into different types of tissue. Scientists convert stem cells into cardiomyocytes to study heart diseases, test new drugs, or explore regenerative therapies. These lab-created heart cells mimic the properties of natural heart cells, including electrical activity and contraction. While they hold promise for repairing damaged hearts, they are still under research to improve their maturity and integration into existing heart tissue for effective treatment.
