Stellar nursery
A stellar nursery is a region in space where new stars are born. It consists of dense clouds of gas and dust, primarily hydrogen, that collapse under gravity. As the material gathers and compresses, it heats up, forming a protostar. Over time, nuclear fusion ignites in the core, creating a new star. These nurseries are often located within giant molecular clouds and are visible through telescopes as bright, colorful regions in space, like the Orion Nebula. They are crucial for understanding how stars and planetary systems develop from interstellar matter.
