Stegosauridae

Stegosauridae is a family of herbivorous dinosaurs known for their distinctive row of large, bony plates along their backs and tail spikes, which likely served for defense, display, or temperature regulation. They lived during the Late Jurassic period, around 155 to 150 million years ago. Members of this group, like the famous Stegosaurus, were medium-sized dinosaurs that walked on four legs. Their unique anatomy helped them survive in their environment by providing protection against predators and possibly aiding in social interactions or thermoregulation.
